In 2006, Taylor Hicks won American Idol’s fifth season, defeating runner-up Katharine McPhee after nearly 64 million were cast for both finalists. His fanbase is known as the Soul Patrol. His first single “Do I Make You Proud” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, while his first post-Idol album Taylor Hicks peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. His follow-up album The Distance came out in 2009 and peaked at No. 58. Hicks started his Las Vegas residency in 2012 at Bally’s. Currently, Hicks still performs at Caesars Entertainment properties.
