A little over 10,000 hours ago, a college kid sat in his dorm room with a mount of emotions so suffocating, the only way to breathe seemed to be through a means he’d never before explored – writing a song.
It could not have been entirely random, nor solely coincidence; afterall, Tarik hails from Brooklyn, NYC – home to a roster of rap artists so engrained in hip hop culture, its roots will always be traced back to the vibrant city.
Connections were formed instantly by anyone whose ears caught wind of Tarik’s music, because every line from his pen was authentic to the one thing we all share in common – life.
A rough upbringing, circumstances far from idyllic, and transparency into the emotions these things evoked, turned out to be the color that made up Tarik’s early music.
Today, the transparency is very much still the life-force behind Tarik’s connection with the superfan base that remains loyal to his music. As Tarik’s perspective has enhanced, the music has simply grown far more colorful, energetic, and liberating for anyone who listens.
10,000 hours later, Tarik is now amassing placements with the NBA, NFL, ESPN, The NorthFace, Beats, Netflix’s ‘Euphoria’, and major video games like Fortnite and NBA2k21.
Tarik intentionally resides outside the lines of pursuing things external. As his focus has turned more inward, Tarik has found that by simply doing his absolute best in this moment, the future continously proves to be beyond anything he could have imagined.
