Singer/songwriter Tamyra Gray is best known as a finalist from the first season of American Idol, finishing third, just behind Justin Guarini and eventual winner Kelly Clarkson.

She released her debut album The Dreamer on the Idol-associated 19 Recordings in 2004. She added acting to her resume with a string of appearances on the Fox series Boston Public. In 2006, she married Sam Watters of Color Me Badd.
