Tamala is the Japanese recording artist.
Born in Osaka Japan and raised in Nara which is also known as the oldest capital in Japan. Zodiac sign: Aquarius.
Most of her family belonged to Japanese classical theatre called “UTAZAWA” from the Edo period. Her aunt was a backing vocalist for Haruo Minami (the legendary singer in Japan) and her mother was also a songwriter. Tamala was influenced by her family background.
In 1996, Tamala started her carrier under the guidance of a jazz drummer who worked at Osaka college of music. Since then, in Osaka,Kobe, Nagoya and Kyoto, she sang at clubs, lounges and jazz cafes, and run to a huge number about 1000 times over.
After moved to Tokyo, Tamala joined the various jam sessions. She got the opportunity to join the project. She joined to the trackmaker, Mabanua’s debut album Done Already / Mabanua (2008), which peaked in the top 3 of the iTunes Japan HIPHOP chart, the top 3 of TOWER RECORDS and HMV HIPHOP R&B chart both. The song “Him“ became a hit. Giles Peterson picked that song to his radio show (BBC RADIO) in UK. She joined the compilation album Ram Cafe 4 (2009), which was broadcasted from Poland. In 2010, joined the 2 compilation albums produced by Kenichiro Nishihara. Natural Relax presented by folklove (2011), which peaked within the top 3 of TSUTAYA RECORDS best selling, and the No.1 of iTunes dance chart. Sweet Swing for Hershey’s (2011), peaked within the No.1 of iTunes jazz chart and the top 4 of iTunes “albums” chart in Japan.
In 2011, Tamala moved to Finland, released her debut studio album, Cosmology (2011), it peaked within top10 iTunes “R&B” chart in Japan. She joined the Voive of Finland 3rd season, and her battle round with Siru (the winner of the 3rd season.) was said the one of the greatest shows in TVOF whole season.
In 2017, she came back to Japan and started her new project now.
