It’s rare to hear an artist and immediately understand that this is a fresh new voice in hip-hop, but Ta’East manages to achieve that.
Born Aaron Ta’East Evans in a small town of southern Kentucky, Ta’East grew up in Oceanside, California— a town heavily influenced by skate culture. Raised solely by his mother, alongside his two older siblings, Ta’East showed interest in performing early as he often worked as a background actor and wrote poetry as a child. With an original liking in footwear design and music production, he found his voice as a recording artist in his hometown when his uncle, a local producer, persuaded him to record his first song.
While attending college, Ta’East garnered local attention throughout San Diego with the release of his mixtape “Saturday the 14th”. As an entrepreneur, he founded the creative imprint DCCXX and moved independently as a respected force with projects like “The Popular Stranger” (2012), “Sonata EP” (2013) and “Okay, I’m Ready EP” (2016). After gaining notable co-signs from some of hip-hop’s most sophisticated tastemakers including Virgil Abloh, No I.D. and Benji B— Ta’East made his voice understood with his stand-out singles “72-10 and “WithTheShit”.
Ta’East continues to influence culture by utilizing his life story with genre-bending sonics and a commanding delivery.
