Switchfoot is an American alternative rock and Christian Rock band from San Diego, California formed in 1996 by Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, and Chad Butler.

Their album Hello Hurricane won a Grammy Award in 2011 for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album.
The band announced on December 15, 2017 on their website that they would be taking a break for “the forseeable future.” On March 30, 2018 they announced that the hiatus was over and that they would be returning to making music and touring.

The band consists of Jon Foreman (lead vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals), Chad Butler (drums, percussion), and Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals). Drew Shirley (guitar, backing vocals) was a member from 2005 – 2022.

As of 2022, they have released thirteen studio albums.
