Sunez, honorably known as Edward Rodriguez, God of the 5% Nation of Gods and Earths of Boricua (Afro-Arawak) roots, via Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York and a Lo Life, the street fashion crew that has become a fully fledged Hip Hop organization directed toward all the Hip Hop elements’ arts. Sunez' work presents, preserves and promotes Hip Hop’s cultural and artistic diversity. In his career, now over 25 years strong, Sunez is a major pioneer of his own Hip Hop element, the Hip Hop Writer (A creative author/principled journalist/honoring historian) creating and displaying the concepts of #ArtOnArt & #ScienceOnMusic in his writings. Sunez also known as #SkillastratorLO, is Executive Editor of PremiereHipHop.COM, publishing over 300 articles works, since 1996, spanning Vibe, XXL, The Source, HipHopDX.com, Stress, One World, Hookt.com, One Love and countless others as a writer and/or editor.

Sunez is the host of The Power Write Show (on Podcasts On Vevo), the first and only show about the Hip Hop Writer element as well as the host of DJ Toshi’s Classic Storm Radio podcast since 2016. Sunez has authored many works including the ebook, The Sunez Crates, a collection of essays from 2013, the seminal paperback The Filtered Real: Essays From the #InvisibleRenaissance in 2019. In 2022, he released on paperback, The Real of 2021 (And 2020!), an annual encyclopedic work that is the ultimate analysis of the best musicians and artists in Hip Hop music today bracketed into a revolutionary new system of ciphers that categorize this entire musical universe. The series continued with The Real of 2022 the following year. He also released Art On Art: Creations That Born This Hip Hop Writer Element, a collection of over 120 poems, songs and works of prose that are inspired by the hundreds of artists, albums and events Sunez has written on since the 2010s, the beginning of this era he named (in 2012), The Invisible Renaissance. He has also released THE P.E.A.C.E. COURSE: Builds On Teaching the Knowledge Of Self, a book of essays on his philosophies on the knowledge of self, the teachings of the 5% Nation of Gods and Earths, and its pedagogy. In 2024, he released the next encyclopedic work in the Real of book series, The Real of 2023,

Sunez is also part of the artist collective, The Leftovers NYC, focused on creating works of awareness and insight against gentrification. They released their first album early in 2021 entitled, Engraved In New York and the sophomore work, Lebron, in 2022. In 2023, Sunez released his debut LP with Chicago veteran MC King Kamal, entitled Mantras Across The Medinas. An LP signifying their brotherhood that has merged to make crafted songs on a myriad of subjects upholding their passion for freedom, justice and equality. It is truly a work created with love for their families, people, crews and their culture. The LP was also followed by an extensive lyric book and a follow up LP, The Unlearn. The end of 2023, his third album with King Kamal was released, Burnt Silk & Blessed Builds. The album was followed by his second lyric book for his 2nd and 3rd albums, The 2 & The 3: The Next LPs Lyric Book in 2024.

In 2024, Sunez will release his debut solo LP, The ZEN of US, which is a score for his accompanying martial arts philosophy book of the same name. Produced by Serious Beats and executive produced by King Kamal, it musically delves into the premise of its partner book. The ZEN of US book offers a creative aphoristic commentary to each passion of the classic work, The Art of War by Sun Tzu. It seeks to expound on the beauty of the warriorship in the martial life of those with a knowledge of self. Training to share all they sincerely know and being prepared to defend the best part, the children, the future generations.

Sunez has also served as an author and editor of major works on the 5% Nation of Gods and Earths including editing The Immortal Birth by Allah Jihad, The Righteous Way & The Righteous Way: The Golden Jubilee Edition, and The Righteous Way: Infinity Edition by Starmel Allah and co-editing the Knowledge of Self: A Collection of Wisdom on the Science of Everything in Life. Since 2000, Sunez has been an educator of his own designed P.E.A.C.E. Course, taught weekly, at Allah school in Mecca, the first school of the 5% NGE in Harlem, NYC. Sunez is also a martial arts disciple of Bian Xing Shaolin Kung Fu.
