Sue Saad & The Next was an American new-wave band. They are most known for their contributions to film soundtracks during the 80s and their overseas hit “Young Girl.”
The band released their debut self-titled album in 1980 to moderate success, peaking at #131 on the Billboard 200. The album’s fourth single “Prisoner” would later be covered by Sheena Easton and Cherie Currie. The group’s biggest hit, 1981’s “Looker,” would also be covered by Kim Carnes.
Along with their debut album, the band would release seven singles throughout the 80s. Their second album (although it was also recorded around this time) would be released digitally in 2016 alongside the digital reissue of their debut album. These digital releases marked the first time many of the group’s soundtrack contributions from films like Looker, Radioactive Dreams, Vicious Lips and Roadie had been released outside of vinyl format.
