Su Lee is a South Korean singer-songwriter, producer, and visual artist. While studying communication design in the UK, she mastered the art of branding and storytelling through her craft. Recent releases include Slice of Life, The Rough and I’ll Just Dance.
Lee first crashed onto the scene with her song and video for “I’ll Just Dance”. The video, subtitled “What My Mental Breakdown Sounds Like”, shot to 30,000 upvotes on Reddit and 750,000 views on YouTube in the first month, resonating with an audience who had been stuck inside for several months during the Covid-19 pandemic. Both the song and video were 100% created by Lee and showcase her quirky and honest style.
The buzz from “I’ll Just Dance” quickly translated to a flurry industry interest with labels and companies drawn to Lee’s raw expression, a counterpoint to the traditional hyper-polished pop star. This commitment to authenticity has continued to steadily attract fans, and in addition to releasing music Lee has also launched a vlog entitled “Overthinkers Society” and begun live streaming her songwriting sessions to invite fans into the process, mistakes and all.
With exceptional melodic intuition, Lee incorporates expressive wordplay that touches upon nostalgia. Her vision is to bring diversity to the modern pop music scene, utilizing her androgynous, mellow vocals and their versatility to adopt different aspects of all genres of music. Lee’s ability to craft stories further extends into her brand world. She engages with the audience through tongue-in-cheek visuals and content that is immediately relatable, yet remarkably captivating.
Currently Lee is working on new music while regularly producing content for her YouTube channel.
