The group Styl-Plus formerly(STYL) was formed in 1997 in Akure, Nigeria by Shifi Emoefe, Tunde Akinsanmi, Yemi Akinwonmi, and Lanre Faneyi .STYL was taken from the first letter of their names S(shifi)T(Tunde)Y(Yomi)L(lanre)
In 1999, after Lanre Faneyi’s death, plus the departure of yemi from the group The group added Zeal Onyecheme, then the name of the group was changed to Styl-Plus. Their song"Runaway" hit the airwaves then became a Hit . They also made other popular songs like olufunmi ,call my Name, imagine that, iya basira and others
