Scottish singer/songwriter best known as the lead singer of Belle and Sebastian (1996-). In 2009 created God Help the Girl, a side project inspired by a song Stuart wrote of the same name which led to an album, girl group, and pop musical movie, all of the same name.
Many of Stuart’s song and lyrics show Christian references though he does not consider himself to be especially devout.
He is allergic to alcohol and suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome and eczema.
