Story Untold (formerly Amasic) is a Canadian rock band hailing from Laval, Quebec. The band’s current lineup consists of lead singer Janick Thibault, guitarist Max Cloutier, bassist Aiden Von Rose and drummer Mehedi Zidani. The band falls into multiple genres, however most of their work can be considered pop-rock.

Janick Thibault originally started out making and releasing various solo covers on his YouTube channel, greenday3840, gaining a fairly large internet following. On March 16, 2012, Janick uploaded a video titled “I’m looking for a band! / Je me cherche un band!”, eventually forming Amasic in 2013. The video has since been deleted from Janick’s channel, however it is still available to watch online courtesy of the WayBack Machine.

Their first EP, The Things We Say, was released on March 18, 2014 with the help of Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau of Simple Plan fame. It was produced by artist and mixer Luc Tellier.

On April 1, 2016, it was announced that bassist Matt McCormack had left the band in order to focus more on his studies, being replaced by Aiden Von Rose. Max Cloutier also joined the band, playing rhythm guitar. This was when the band changed their name from Amasic to their current name, Story Untold. Janick released a video on his YouTube channel announcing the fact they were changing their name and explaining their reasoning for doing so:

We thought that with Matt leaving the band and with the arrival of Aiden and Max, it was a better thing for us to start fresh under a new name and that name is “Story Untold”.

On May 24, 2016, the band was signed to Hopeless Records. They also released a new EP on the very same day. Their self-titled EP included several songs that were featured in their previous EP as well as a number of unreleased songs that had been played live as Amasic. The band released an announcement video talking about their signing and the new EP, which can be seen on Janick’s YouTube channel.

On March 16, 2019, guitarist Jessy Bergy formally announced he would be leaving Story Untold to go back to school.
