Sticky Fingers are an Australian indie rock/reggae band. Formed in 2008, the band consists of frontman Dylan Frost (vocals & guitar), Paddy Cornwall (bass & vocals), Seamus Coyle (lead guitar), Beaker Best (drums & percussion) and Freddy Crabs (keys & synth).
Lead-singer Dylan Frost met bassist Paddy Cornwall and Beaker Best whilst busking in Newtown, New South Wales.
Nicknamed STIFI, their sound is a mixture or combination of reggae, psychedelic rock, and indie pop. As stated in their personal website’s biography:
… if The Clash, Pink Floyd and Arctic Monkeys are three beads of sweat that meet rolling down your back, Sticky Fingers are there licking it up.
The band has released three studio albums: Caress Your Soul, their debut album released in 2013, which reached number 39 in the Australian Albums Chart; Land of Pleasure, which peaked at number 3 on the Australian Albums Chart; and Westway (the glitter & the slums), debuting at number 1 on the Australian Albums Chart, making it the band’s first number 1 album in Australia. They’ve also released two EPs, as well as a demo EP: Extended Play, Happy Endings, and Helping Hands.
The band has gained recognition in not only Australia, but also in countries such as France, Germany, New Zealand, the Netherlands and the UK. They’ve undertaken three international tours and various national tours since forming.
