About Sticky Fingaz

Kirk Jones is a member of multi-platinum rap group Onyx, actor, film director and writer.

He was discovered by Jam Master Jay of Run-D.M.C. and joined Onyx after they had already released their 1990 single, but quickly became its frontman. In 1993, the group released album Bacdafucup, which spawned the platinum-selling number one single “Slam”, would eventually be listed to The Source magazine’s 1998 list of the 100 greatest hip-hop albums ever made.

In 2000, Sticky Fingaz started a solo career. He made a memorable appearance on the Eminem classic “Remember Me” (The Marshal Mathers LP) and the following year Slim Shady participated on Sticky’s debut album Black Trash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones.

Kirk Jones starred in more than 80 films and TV shows. His feature film credits include Spike Lee’s Clockers (1995), the Hughes brothers’ Dead Presidents (1995) and Ice Cube’s Next Friday (2000). He has also played the main character in the TV series Blade (2006) and the role of Brikk in Empire (2016–2017).

Sticky Fingaz wrote, produced and directed two feature films through his production company Major Independents: A Day in the Life (2009) and Caught on Tape (2013).
