About Stephanie Cooke

Stephanie Cooke got her start singing in her church choir. She had aspirations of becoming a R&B/Gospel music promoter. Eventually she put together a local talent search competition in her hometown of New Jersey. In her quest to find recording facilities for the winner to record a demo and shop a deal. She met the owner Daniel Laporte and his brother and producing partner, Big Moses of DML Studios in East Orange, NJ.

From there she was introduced to House Music and the duo became instrumental in the production of her early 90’s singles like “Excuses,” “Love’s Been Right Here” & “Holding On To Your Love,” which charted on the top 5 single on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music Club Play chart released in 1993 on King Street Records. She has gone on to record arrangements and remixes for many of the world’s most legendary artists like Diana Ross, & Kool & The Gang, Changing Faces, SWV & The Braxtons. She has also written songs for R&B acts like Jody Watley, Chante Moore, Tyrese’s “Do You Need” from his self-titled debut album, Aretha Franklin’s “Every Little Bit Hurts from her thirty-fourth studio album, Rose Is Still A Rose just to name a few. Stephanie released her first full length album, June 2003’s Everything on King Street Records featuring production by Mondo Grosso.

After twenty plus years in the industry creating projects for other artists. Stephanie decided to embark on her own endeavors starting her own label, Angeltown Recordings. Releasing two singles in 2016 “You Bring Me Joy”, “You Changed Me” & 2017 single “Good Time.” Cooke’s label is determined to make feel-good house music that inspires and uplifts the spirit and soul.
