About Steel Banglez

Pahuldip Singh Sandhu (born February 5th 1987), professionally known as Steel Banglez, is a music producer of Indian-Punjabi decent hailing from Forest Gate, East London. Through his powerhouse productions, he is often credited as a pioneer and driving force in the UK Music scene, haven worked with some of the leading UK artists.

Banglez has been a persistent figure of the UK music scene since the mid-2000’s having garnered credits on UK Grime singles such as iconic MC D Double E’s 2005 track “Trouble”. Between 2006 to 2008, Steel Banglez picked up a string of firearm charges and was sentenced to four years in prison. Turning his incarceration into an advantage, Banglez claimed that:

I was in prison for four years, from 17 to 21. I came from a teenager to a man and for me, I saw it as a blessing. I saw it, I’m in a room, I had no contact with anyone, I didn’t have to go out, I can elevate myself onto another level. So I could sit here and hate the system, hate the prison system and be upset – or I can utilise it.

Steel Banglez started to gain a steady traction in the UK in the ealry-to-mid-2010’s as he started to gain production credits from artists such as Krept & Konan and Yungen. It was following his tight-knit bonds with North London rapper MoStack and Birmingham rapper MIST that he started to become a recognizable name in the UK scene – producing four consecutive hits from the latter including “Karlas Back, “Game Changer”, “Ain’t The Same” and Hot Property" in 2016. Through the following years, Banglez continues to build his credits in 2017, having secured huge hits such as East London rapper J Hus‘ track “Fisherman”, Streatham, South West London rapper Dave’s smash hit “No Words” – the latter in which charted at Number 17 on the UK Singles Charts. He also produced North West London rapper Nines’ smash hit “I See You Shining” in 2018 which landed on the UK Top 40 Single Charts.

He also made his single debut in February 2017 with “Money” featuring MoStack, MIST, Haile and Abra Cadabra with his follow up “Bad” being released in November, featuring Yungen, Not3s, Mr. Eazi and MoStack again – being his breakout hit and eventually going BRIT Certified Platinum in 2021. He continued to shine through his own singles with his 2018 single “Your Lovin'” featuring Yxng Bane and MØ landing on the UK Singles Chart at 47 and becoming BRIT Certified Silver. In 2019, Steel Banglez released his MoStack & AJ Tracey assisted single “Fashion Week” which became his biggest song to-date, becoming BRIT Certified Platinum and charting at Number 7 on the UK Singles Charts.

He also is a frequent collaborator with the likes of UK producer Sevaq and Indian artist Sidhu Moose Wala.

In 2021 Steel Banglez started the roll-out for his debut album, The Playlist, in which he announced to be released in November 2021.
