Swedish electronic pop duo State of Sound debuted in 2016 with “Higher Love,” a downtempo cut that introduced their mix of breezy tropical house and romantic dance-pop. Formed in Stockholm by friends Viktor Norén and Joakim Andrén, the new group kept the lush summer vibes rolling with subsequent singles “Wake Up Where You Are,” “Love Me Like That,” and “Dry the Rain,” blending gently pulsing electronic rhythms with smooth vocals and occasional acoustic instrumentation. ~ Timothy Monger
