About State Champs

Originating from Albany, NY, State Champs is a five-piece pop-punk band formed by lead singer Derek DiScanio and guitarist Tyler Szalkowski. Before signing to Pure Noise Records in 2012, the band released their self-titled EP in 2010, State Champs, and their second EP, Overslept in 2011.

In 2012, Tony Diaz and Evan Ambrosio replaced original members playing rhythm guitar and drums, respectively. The following year the band released their much anticipated LP The Finer Things in October, following up with an EP The Acoustic Things almost a year later featuring songs from The Finer Things along with two new songs.

Completing their current lineup in 2014, Ryan Scott Graham joined the band playing bass. State Champs’s second LP Around the World and Back was released in 2015. A deluxe version featuring two more songs and several live songs was released in May 2017. Their third LP Living Proof was released in June 2018.
