Camilo Paredes (b. November 11, 2002), better known as Standly, is a singer hailing from Valparaiso, Chile. He rose to fame practically overnight when his hit song “Mi Gata” went viral. With a deep understanding of the influence of contemporary Perreo and Reggaeton, Standly effortlessly transforms these genres into irresistible, trendy sounds.

His childhood was spent in the El Canelo area before moving to El Totoral. He attended the San Felipe Mixed Lyceum where he excelled as a student. Growing up, he was surrounded by a musical family, with his father and uncle performing in small venues. Despite not initially being drawn to music, he began contemplating his future as he approached the age of 14. It wasn’t until high school that he connected with a fellow musician who had musical knowledge. During this time, he dedicated himself to honing his songwriting and production skills. With limited resources, he transformed his room into a makeshift studio using his cell phone to record. Originally, he harbored aspirations of pursuing a career in law and physical education. However, the unexpected triumph of his music completely altered his path in life, redirecting his passion and focus towards his blossoming musical journey. Combining his family initials with an added “y,” he adopted the stage name “Standly.”

Camilo released his first single “Mi Bandida” in June 2020, followed by several more singles throughout the year. However, it was in 2021 that he gained significant attention for his songs “Mi Gata” with El Barto and “Pégate.” These tracks went viral on social media and climbed the Chilean Songs chart on Billboard.

In July 2022, Camilo collaborated with Cris MJ to release “Marisola” which became his second number one hit in Chile. He later dropped a remix of the song featuring Argentine rappers Duki and Nicki Nicole, topping the Argentina Hot 100 chart and the Monitor Latino Peru list. By the end of the year, he ranked as the fifth most-streamed artist in Chile and the second most-streamed Chilean artist globally on Spotify. In November 2022, he launched a mobile video game called Estrella by Standly.

In April 2023, Standly sparked controversy on social media after sharing a video on Instagram that appeared to show him holding a firearm. The incident prompted a police report that lead to an investigation regarding the potential illegal possession of weapons. In response, the singer defended himself by stating that the weapon in question was not real and expressed his strong opposition to violence and weapons as a means of resolving any kind of problem or conflict.
