A completely self-produced, five-piece hard rock band from Lexington, KY. Started in 2021 at Transylvania University, Sphynx draws inspiration from glam rock, metal, and punk in their music and style, particularly Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Black Sabbath, and Snarky Puppy.
All of the members came together through the music program at Transylvania and began playing house shows on and around the university campus very quickly. During this time, they wrote the 9 original songs featured on their debut album, “Whispers” (2023). The album was preceded by the release of three singles, Antidote, Holding On, and the titular track, Whispers,at the end of 2022 and 2023.
