Aya Matsuura (松浦亜弥; Matsuura Aya), nicknamed Ayaya, was born in Himeji, Hyogo, Japan on June 25th, 1986, and is a singer and actress best known for being a member of モーニング娘。(Morning Musume), after being the sole winner of auditions of the 2000 Morning Musume and Heike Michiyo Protegee Audition, becoming the fourth generation member.

Matsuura would then go on to debut in project units for Hello!Project throughout various years, and also debuted as a soloist in 2001 with the single ドッキドキ！LOVEメール (Dokkidoki! LOVE Mail).

She would be active with Hello!Project until 2008, announcing her graduation from the company, and from モーニング娘。(Morning Musume) and Elder Club (a group of former モーニング娘。(Morning Musume) members); she would release her final single チョコレート魂 (Chocolate Damashii) and her final album 想いあふれて (Omoi Afurete) in 2009.

Despite officially graduating from Hello!Project, she would continue to appear in concerts with the company, and also released a cover album, which released in 2010, along with a best of album which released in 2011. In 2011, Aya revealed she struggled with and was diagnosed with endometriosis, which caused her to struggle with performing on stage and other various idol activities. Despite this, she would continue to release concerts, specifically acoustic concerts, for her fans. In 2013, Matsuura officially announced her hiatus after performing her last Hello!Project concert at the end of the year.

That same year, in 2013, she announced that she had registered her marriage to w-inds member 橘慶太 (Keita Tachibana), after 12 years of dating. The pair would have their ceremony a year later in Hawaii in October, and announced the birth of their first child in December the same year.

In 2022, she would release her first single since her hiatus in 2013. The song, titled “Addicted”, was written by her husband 橘慶太 (Keita Tachibana).
