Malmo based artist Soleil Camara has a musical background deeply rooted in the urban scene. Soleil began his musical journey as a reggae artist, and continues to to incorporate reggae influences and the conscious messages of the genre while applying them to a more modern flavor.
Hip hop, soul, reggae, trap, and alternative EDM are some of the many genres in which Soleil finds inspiration experimenting with the merger all these genres together to create his own unique sound.
After being billed as a supporting act to Stephen Marley and Konshens on their Scandinavian tours back in 2013, Soleil headed to Stockholm to work with the BMI awarded producer iSHi (The Alley) for his mixtape “Spring Pieces” which features big names such as Pusha T, Astrid S, and Tinie Tempah among other artists. Together with iSHi, Soleil also wrote a single track and music video called “Get At Me” which was released to critical acclaim.
In 2016 Soleil also released a cover of the track “Do It Right” by Anne-Marie in Soleil’s own soulful reggae style, which triggered the artist to share the video on social media and hype up Soleil to her fans. Later that year Soleil also featured the huge hit single “More” by Total Ape together with the big pop artist Miss Li.
In 2017 Soleil performed at some of Sweden’s biggest music festivals such as Way Out West in Gothenburg, Öland Roots and at Malmöfestivalen.
Since 2018 Soleil has mostly been focusing on writing new material and getting into music production as well as DJing.
In 2020 a lot of Soleil’s new work will be self produced and will give the world a fusion of his creative musical elements.
