So Large is a grime MC based in Tower Hamlets, East London. Under the name Soljah Kid, he was a member of former grime collective Mucky Wolfpack alongside the likes of Mercston, Lady Shocker, Discarda and God’s Gift, and landed some early high-profile features on Fresh’s street classic “Real-ion”, Wiley’s Tunnel Vision Vol. 4 mixtape highlight “Oi Rudeboy”, and the Risky Roadz freestyle documentary series.
In 2014, he teased the title and artwork for the Bull in a China Shop EP, which was never released. He has since released 500 Grams (2015), which features appearances from Ghetts and Scrufizzer among others.
On Christmas Day 2015, following on from the clashes on Rude Kid’s Rinse FM Christmas set, he sent for Capo Lee, Kwam, Rocks FOE, Nico Lindsay and Darkos Strife with the war dub “Shots”. He later released “Tipex”, directed at Capo alone. This beef, while jovial, was high-profile in the grime scene and gave So Large more exposure.
In 2016, he released “Sandwich”, a new single featuring a guest verse from Ghetts over Filthy Gears‘ explosive “War Machine” instrumental. The track became somewhat of a sleeper hit, gaining recognition throughout the year. In January 2017, he followed it up with a remix featuring guest verses from Bloodline Crew members President T and Bossman Birdie. He’s since appeared at Sharky Major’s prestigious Grime Originals raves.
