About Smut Peddlers (Hip Hop Group)

Not to be confused with the Punk band of the same name, Smut Peddlers is collaboration between underground Horrorcore rapper Cage Kennylz and The High & Mighty members Mr. Eon and DJ Mighty Mi. The trio put out one release entitled “Porn Again” which featured the likes of Kool G. Rap, Kool Keith and a unheard of R.A. the Rugged Man at the time.

The promotional video for “Bottom Feeders” was a source of intense controversy among feminists and human right’s activists due to its blatant, extreme, and sometimes brutal use of sex, sexual imagery, and most particularly, sexism, as a source of comedy.

The group would later do a few more tracks on various other Eastern Conference artist’s records and compilation before splitting in 2003 (a track entitled “More In Outs” on The High & Mighty LP Air Force 1 proclaimed “Smut Peddlers is dead” beforehand) after Cage left EC after a alleged none payment and defected to Definitive Jux.

Cage has later made friends with DJ Mighty Mi again and was featured on a track on his latest LP, although Cage is persistent to state that they will be never another Smut Peddlers reunion.
