David A. Villegas (Born December 19, 1995 in Hialeah, Florida), known professionally as Skinnyfromthe9 is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who is best known for his tracks “Love Blast,” “Back When I Was Broke,” and “Crush 3.”

Being raised in Somerville, New Jersey, he clearly reps where he’s from by incorporating the 908 area code into his stage name.

Being born to parents involved with illegal activities, and dealing with poverty and homelessness at a young age, Skinny began to listen to Eminem because he felt he could relate to him, though this didn’t last long until Em took a hiatus and he began listening to different artists like Drake and A$AP Rocky.

Despite early comparisons to Kid Ink, Skinny has managed to build his own sound which seem to have paid off, with tracks like “Love Blast” and “Back When I Was Broke” racking up millions of streams on Youtube and Soundcloud.
