Silver Fins

About Silver Fins

The band was formed by Hitomi Takenaka & Mitsuhiro Asakura, members from a previous band called Salon Music ( サロン・ミュージック) and they managed to find brief success when “I’m waiting so long” – one of their songs – was selected to feature as the closing soundtrack of the anime Berserk in 1997.

Apparently the band only lasted a couple of years, from 1997 to 1998. To our sadness… but to our happiness, they left at least 2 albums, besides the classic single Waiting So Long. Those who only know this hit are surprised to hear the album, (Hollywood) because Waiting So Long is quite sad, melancholic or, at the very least, too bucolic. Not the others: the record is full of dancing grooves.

In addition to Hollywood, they released one other album, Pigment, on May 21, 1998, under the Umbrella label. The same label behind the band Penpals, who made the opening song for Berserk, “Tell Me Why.”
