Headed by charismatic lead singer Tamara Danz, Silly was one of the most popular rock bands in East Germany. Their lyrics were often abstract, and frequently critical of the GDR government, leading to conflicts with East German censors.
The group disbanded after Tamara’s death in 1995, but regrouped in 2005 and in 2010 released ‘Alles Rot’, their most popular album yet, with Anna Loos filling the role of lead singer.
