Shownu is a Korean singer-songwriter and a member, dancer, leader of the South Korean boy band MONSTA X and he is also a member of NUBOYZ. Currently, he is signed with Starship Entertainment.

Before he join MONSTA X, he was a trainee of JYP Entertainment. He also joined Lee Hyori’s dance troupe, as a supporting dancer for Lee Hyori’s single “Bad Girls”.

He joined Starship Entertainment in 2014 as a trainee. In the same year, he formed the band NUBOYZ alongside Joohoney, Wonho & #GUN, uploading cover works, mixtapes, and public performances. Later in the same year, he participated in the trainee survival reality program “NO MERCY”, and was finally selected as the second pick among the seven members, and debuted as a member of MONSTA X on May 14, 2015.
