Sho Baraka (or Amisho Baraka Lewis) is a Christian hip-hop artist born in Alberta, Canada on January 10th, 1979. He has lived in California and Texas and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
He was signed to Reach Records in 2004, and was an original member of the 116 Clique – with Lecrae, Trip Lee and Tedashii. Between 2004 and his departure in 2011, he released 2 albums – Turn My Life Up in 2007, and Lions and Liars in 2010, and was featured on the 116 Clique’s compilation albums – 13 Letters and Man Up.
In 2011, he left Reach Records to create the music and art group High Society – with J.R, Swoope and Suzy Rock. 2 years later, he dropped his 3rd album, the more politically and racially-themed Talented 10th.
In 2016, Baraka released The Narrative and also started the “& Campaign” as a coalition to give voice to urban Christians that take issues with both Democrats and Republicans.
