Shellac is a self-described “minimalist rock trio” from Chicago which has toured and recorded intermittently since forming in 1992. The band consists of Steve Albini (formerly of Rapeman and Big Black, and a legendary rock producer/recording engineer, guitar and vocals), Bob Weston (formerly of Volcano Suns, and also an accomplished producer/engineer, bass and vocals), and Todd Trainer (formerly of Breaking Circus and Rifle Sport, and performing as a solo artist under the name Brick Layer Cake, drums).
