Rashid Moktar, better known by his stage name $heed (DollaSignSheed) is a Somali Rapper from the westend of Toronto, Canada. $heed rose to popularity after the release of his music video “Kawalling”.

$heed was born on March 25, 1992 in Cairo, Egypt. His official career in music began in 2014 as he was working on his “So Fly Freestyle”. $heed found difficulties throughout the years to find himself as an artist until he came around to making his hit single “Kawalling” in December 2015. Around that time is when $heed joined the rap collective “The Public” alongside J-Soul and Kiloe.

$heed always had a passion for making music since a young age. What really inspired him to create music was his mentor “PB”. After seeing him get signed to music label “DTP Def Jam”. Seeing his mentor get signed, $heed realized it was possible for him to make it in the industry.

$heed released his first project “Ward 11” on on October 11.
