Shaheen (December 16th, 1993) is an Iranian-American Hip-Hop artist residing in South Windsor, Connecticut. Influenced by Lupe Fiasco, Nas, T.I, Notorious B.I.G, Public Enemy, and other Hip-Hop figures, Shaheen began writing lyrics in 2009 during a car ride, which developed into an after-school hobby soon after. Beginning in 2010, friends would encourage Shaheen to continue writing lyrics and start making music because of his ability to move people through poetry. Being picked on for making music, Shaheen ignored his critics and continued to pursue music and grow as an artist. In 2012, he performed for the first time at a charity event, making many former critics to take back what they have said before. After spending 2 years in his basement practicing his delivery, Shaheen released his first official single in 2014, called “Rise”. In 2016, after a trip to Iran to explore his roots, Shaheen released his first EP “Lion and the Sun”
