Shady Records is an American record label founded in 1999 by rapper Eminem and his manager, Paul Rosenberg. After the highly successful release of Eminem’s second album, The Slim Shady LP, Interscope Records awarded them with their own label.
Since the formation, the label has signed fifteen acts. It has also been part of the business venture in Shade 45 radio station via Sirius Satellite Radio, and had its own dedicated special edition magazine via XXL magazine.
The labels acts over the years have earned RIAA certifications of gold or higher on twenty one of its thirty three released albums. Current acts include Eminem himself, duo Bad Meets Evil, Westside Boogie, GRIP, and Ez Mil. Former acts include but are not limited to: D12, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, Bobby Creekwater, Cashis, Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf Griselda, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine and of course, their biggest-selling artist to date, 50 Cent.
