Scott Richard Weiland (1967 – 2015) was an American musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the leader of bands Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver. His on-stage performance was flamboyant and chaotic, and this translated into a life full of sex and drugs, culminating in a fatal overdose while on tour as 2015 came to a close.
