Los Angeles based, Portland OR. bred, Scott Fisher, has moved gradually from the club scene in which he regularly toured, to the recording studio in recent years: producing/writing and mixing for other artists as well as various network television shows. His songs have been featured in Parks and Recreation, Better Call Saul, Raising Hope, Gossip Girl, Brothers and Sisters, Smash and Felicity, just to name a few. Still, the passion and desire to play live and record his own original songs, has drawn Scott back into the old-fashioned world of record making with his new album “Jumpin’ at Shadows.”
“Jumpin’ at Shadows” is as diverse stylistically as the places from which the music itself was created, from the sunshine and elusive dreams of Los Angeles, to the quiet desert of the Sonic Ranch in Tornillo TX., back to the rainy melancholy of Portland OR. After recording a French Bossa Nova album “Paris Bossa Nova” in 2013 and a classical solo piano LP “Ballads Minuets and Waltzes” in 2015, Scott returns to his Rock and Indie roots with this collection of 11 original songs.
With long time collaborators Jeff Anthony (Sheryl Crow/Chuck Prophet) on drums and Robin Everhart (The Rival Sons) on Bass, Scott played much of the remaining instrumentation. Covering the gamut from psychedelic rock to dreamy Americana, “Jumpin’ at Shadows” also features the virtuoso guitar playing of Zane Carney (John Mayer) and the smooth stylings of Paul Brainard (She and Him/Blitzen Trapper) on Pedal Steel and guitar.
