SCART (Shane Carter) is a guitarist/songwriter, digital and multimedia artist and painter based on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
He writes songs and plays regular gigs with The Molotov , an Australian 5 member, female and male, heavy hybrid-rock band. They recently finalised and released the 12 track album Resistentia . Along with being it’s creator & founding member, Scart also designs all merchandise for the band and creates lyric and music videos for promotional purposes.
Scart has also been creating digital art for several decades and his work has been recognised with inclusion in the Propaganda 3 world tour and by AvantCard with a 40,000 print-run and distribution of his image Cybernation 442.
He has also collaborated with poets, musicians and artists to create CDRoms and Videos which have been publicly screened at festivals and live band performances. His video collaboration, “Returning”, with poet Sara Moss, his creative and life partner, won the 2010 Queensland Poetry Festival’s Filmmaker’s Award.
Scart has now ventured from the digital space into painting . His work was first exhibited publicly through inclusion in the Outside the Square exhibition at Able Gallery Loganlea, in 2018, alongside other emerging and established artists. It was during this exhibit it was first described as “Vibrant and Primal.”
