After graduating from high school, Sandra accepted a scholarship from the University of Kansas to train as an opera singer. The title track was used and retitled “Soul Sanctuary,” on Prince’s nineteenth studio album, November 1996’s Emancipation.

Three years later she released her mainstream debut album, November 1996’s Mack Diva Saves The World, on Warner Bros with groovy tunes like, Since You’ve Been Gone," “Chocolate” and “Come Over,” reuniting with The Family Stand producer V. Jeffrey Smith on the album.
