About SANA (TWICE)

Born in Tennōji-ku, Osaka, Japan, Sana Minatozaki (湊崎 紗夏), anonymously known as Sana, is a Japanese singer and rapper based in South Korea. She is known to be apart of Japanese-South-Korean girl group, TWICE, which had debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2015 with the title track, “OOH-AHH하게 (Like OOH-AHH)”.

Sana got casted as a trainee when shopping with her friends, her audition then passed on April 13, 2012 where she trained for 3 years under JYP. Soon, Sana had then participated in Mnet survival show, “SIXTEEN”, where she had ranked 4th place, leading her to debut in TWICE.

Asides from her group projects, she has surprisingly appeared in multiple music videos, from artists under JYP. She was in GOT7’s “A” music video, and appeared in the Japanese versions of JUNHO‘s “Feel” and “Candy”.

Sana is mostly known for cute charms, but also well-known as the Japanese line in TWICE, consisting Momo, Mina and Sana. Her adorable visuals led her to ranking 48th in TC Candler’s “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2018”, then soon in 2 years, she raised up to 29th in “The 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2020”.
