Sam Coomes

American musician from Sherman, Texas who plays in multiple bands in the Portland area. Coomes is one half of the duo Quasi and the ex-husband of Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney. He sings and plays guitar, bass and keyboards. He was a bass player in Heatmiser along with Elliott Smith, and subsequently played bass on Smith’s albums Figure 8 and From a Basement on the HIll. In addition to his solo output, Coomes also frequently plays with other bands, most notably Built to Spill.
