Born and raised at Santiniketan, West Bengal, India, Sahana Bajpaie is an Bengali-Indian singer-songwriter and one of the most prominent contemporary Rabindra Sangeet vocalists. In 2007, she released her debut album Notun Kore Pabo Bole, which was a collection of Rabindra Sangeet. Sahana’s second Rabindra Sangeet album Ja Bolo Tai Balo was released in 2015 and the latest solo album, Mon Bandhibi Kemone in 2016. In 2013, Bajpaie made her debut playback in Bengali film Hawa Bodol. She had written several popular songs for the musician Arnob and performed backing vocals for his solo albums, Chaina Bhabish (2006), Hok Kolorob (2007), Doob (2008). She had performed at Alexander Hall, Canary Wharf, London, with the Bangladeshi Sufi-Baul fusion band Bangla, 2006. She was awarded at the UK Parliament The Bengal’s Pride Award 2018 for her contribution to Arts and Culture.
