Bobby Perman, better known by his stage name, S-Type, is a Scottish hip-hop producer from Edinburgh, currently residing in Glasgow. He is signed to LuckyMe Records along with his notable collaborators Lunice and Hudson Mohawke.
In October 2012, he received widespread recognition after releasing Billboard, his first EP on LuckyMe. In 2014, S-Type returned with Rosario, an EP featuring rappers Kemba (fka YC The Cynic) and Roc Marciano and a track “Lost Girls”, that apparently almost wound up on Drake’s Nothing Was The Same.
In December 2014 Noisey released a 42 minutes long rap track called “Rap Monument”, which was produced by S-Type and Hudson Mohawke and that featured a verse from 44 rappers such as Pusha T, Danny Brown and Young Thug.
On February 8th 2018 he began releasing a single a week, totaling to 19 trap bangers, which were then re-released as a compilation album OS-T on June 14th. On Beat, an EP released in September 2019, S-Type celebrates the beatmaker culture and proves himself as one of the best.
