S.E.S. (에스이에스) was a South Korean girl group, under SM Entertainment. Their group name is an acronym for “Sea & Eugene & Shoo”. The group consists of three members: Bada, Eugene and Shoo and were active from 1997 to 2002.
S.E.S was the first girl group to debut under SM Entertainment and were seen as the female counterparts to the boy group H.O.T. (High-Five Of Teenagers), another SM group who also reached huge popularity at the same time.
Throughout the years, S.E.S won several awards such as Rookie of the Year and Top Popular Artist among others. The group is considered a legacy act in the K-Pop industry, releasing hits like “U,” “Twilight Zone,” “Just In Love.” Their songs “Dreams Come True” and “Be Natural” have been remade by their juniors and top girl groups like Red Velvet and aespa.
In 2017, fifteen years after their disbandment, S.E.S came back for their 20th anniversary project, titled Remember and featured 10 new songs including the singles, “Remember” and “Paradise.”
