Matthew Kopp, who performs as Running Touch, is an Australian multi-instrumental musician. He was the founding guitarist of the nu-metal band Ocean Grove, although he is now a studio-only member of the group. Kopp has also collaborated on material for Adult Art Club.
In an Instagram story Q&A, he shared that this project was originally titled “Paper Tiger” before rebranding to Running Touch:
I had a little blurb about the project at the time that talked about running and touching different genres. I saw this project as a production name, not really a performative artist name when I started – that’s a lot of the reason why I went anonymous (so the running and touching genres thing kind of made sense?). I am grateful I did because Paper Tiger is TRASH.
