Run–DMC is one of the greatest and most influential contributors to hip-hop, in addition to Kurtis Blow and Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five.
The group consisted of Joseph “ Run” Simmons, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell. The group retired when Jam Master Jay was fatally shot.
In 2009, the trio was admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Eminem, making them the second group to be inducted (second to Flash & The Five).
