Joel Gustaf Berghult (born 8 April 1988), better known by his stage name Roomie, is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and YouTube creator from Gothenburg, Sweden (currently based in Los Angeles, and previously in the UK). He graduated from Musikmakarna in 2014 where he studied songwriting and music production.
Joel’s career began in 2010 when he started his YouTube channel RoomieOfficial. His career skyrocketed in 2014 when he uploaded his video One Guy, 14 Voices which has over 23 million views. He released a sequel in 2015 called One Guy, 15 Voices which got him invited to perform on the Swedish talk show Nyhetsmorgon and Good Morning America.
In 2019, Joel and long-time friends PewDiePie and Boyinaband released the #1 Billboard hit “Congratulations”. The song was created as a diss track to T-Series for surpassing PewDiePie in subscribers. He regained his seat for a while before being dethroned yet again.
In 2020, he began going under the alias Lil Pitchy with the release of his single “Livin' for That.”
