Ronnie McNeir (Born December 14th, 1951), is a songwriter and vocalist from Camden, Alabama with an emphasis on Soul music. He started his music career in his early teenage years, releasing his first single in 1966 at the age of 15. Shortly after racking up some production experience with Marvin Gaye duettist Kim Weston, he released his first album “Ronnie McNeir” in 1972.
Renown for his sweet vocal & keyboard performances, he would soon move on to create two more albums for Motown. Later on he became the musical director of Motown alumni The Four Tops. Progressing into the 1980’s, Ronnie continued to release albums, and even got nominated for a Grammy Award in 1981 for his work with The Rance Allen Group. Not to mention finding time to duet with Teena Marie and do production work on the Eddie Kendricks & David Ruffin album “Ruffin & Kendrick”!
Mr. McNeir gradually developed a following in the United Kingdom. This progressed to a point of where he released 2 albums exclusively in the UK on the record label Expansion. Since then, Ronnie’s output has stabilized and has continued to release new projects and enjoy his life long accomplishments.
