Rodney Jerkins a.k.a. Darkchild is a Grammy Award-winning producer, rapper, and songwriter who has worked with numerous R&B, pop, and hip-hop artists. His first big hits came in 1997 with Joe’s “Don’t Wanna Be a Player” and the Mary J. Blige/Lil' Kim collaboration “I Can Love You.” The following year, he had his first #1 pop hit with Brandy & Monica’s “The Boy is Mine” and also produced Monica’s #1 R&B hit “Angel of Mine.” In 1999, he produced the #1 pop hit “If You Had My Love” for Jennifer Lopez and Destiny’s Child’s #1 pop hit “Say My Name,” which won a Grammy for Best R&B Song in 2000, the same year he scored another #1 pop hit with Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough.”

Rodney went on to work with stars such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, George Michael, the Spice Girls, *NSYNC, Britney Spears, TLC, Ludacris, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, and Justin Bieber among many others. In 2014, he won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year with his production on Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.”
