Anna Robinson (b. September 2, 1996), known professionally as Robinson, is a New Zealand singer-songwriter with a desire to make music that makes people want to dance and cry.
The Greymouth native grew up singing and teaching herself to play the piano, but didn’t discover her talent for song-writing until her teenage years. Encouraged by her music teacher in high school at Garin College in Nelson, Robinson took every opportunity to perform, from assemblies to the Smokefree Rockquest, an annual original music competition for youths held in New Zealand.
Upon finishing high school, she signed with Page 1 Management and begun working with songwriters and producers around the globe. Her first single, “Don’t You Forget About Me,” was released in late May, 2017, and was the spark of a life-changing year, with her second single “Crave You” picking up more than 5 million streams on Spotify alone, landing her a publishing deal with Universal Music.
Following the success of her first two singles, the singer-songwriter then proceeded to release her most successful single to date, “Nothing to Regret.” It was well-received by critics and the general public, garnering more than 80 million streams on Spotify solely.
