About Rob Dukes

Robert Dukes aka Rob Dukes, is an American singer born in March 8, 1968 in Florida. His best known as the former lead vocalist of American Bay Area thrash metal band Exodus and his own crossover thrash band Generation Kill that he formed in 2008. He describes his parents as being “kinda hippies” for his entry into the world of music. Artists such as The Doors, Black Sabbath and Jimi Hendrix are the music’s that he grew up on. He met and befriended Jeff Hickey, a longtime friend of Exodus. While working for Exodus, Dukes played a demo tape that he composed in 1996 to guitarist Rick Hunolt and drummer Tom Hunting in case they needed a new vocalist. After Steve Souza left the band, Dukes joined to Exodus as a new lead singer. He appeared three studio albums with band since 2005 – 2010. On 2014, band set aside Dukes for return of their longtime lead singer Steve Souza. Dukes lashed out at his former bandmates, and said that he had not spoken to them since his departure and addressed a 20-second phone call conversation he had with drummer Tom Hunting about the band’s reunion with Souza. On July 8, 2017, Dukes rejoined with Exodus to perform with them as part of a two-night stint event in San Francisco and it was a start for a fresh relationship again between Dukes and Exodus.
