About Richard Tandy

Richard Tandy (born March 26, 1948 in Birmingham, England) is an English musician. He was the keyboardist for the Electric Light Orchestra, often cited as one of the group’s most pivotal members. In addition to providing a rich variety of keyboard-based textures to the band’s sound, he would also co-arrange the string arrangements with band leader Jeff Lynne. Tandy would continue to collaborate with Lynne after the dissolution of the original lineup of ELO, and he was also part of the duo Tandy & Morgan, most well-known for their 1986 concept album Earthrise.
